Ocean Spray was created in 1930, Massachusetts, by three cranberry growers who wanted to expand their market for cranberries. They had created a cranberry sauce along with other cranberry-based products and in the same year, became the first producer of cranberry juice drinks with the introduction of Cranberry Juice Cocktail. Ocean Spray are the largest producer of cranberries in the world with over 700 member growers worldwide and a 70% share of the North American cranberry production lines. Ocean Spray employs about 2,000 people, and in 2013 had yearly sales of $1.2 billion!
