Aero is an aerated chocolate bar currently manufactured by chocolate giants Nestlé but, originally produced by Rowntree's in 1935. Aero was hailed as the "new chocolate of its time as no other had implemented this created procedure. By the end of that year, Aero chocolate had proved sufficiently popular with consumers in the UK and by 1936, sales of the chocolate had reached New York City, and later spread to many other countries including Canada, Mexico, Australia, South Africa and Japan. Aero chocolate has been manufactured by Nestlé since 1988, after a takeover of Rowntree's.
